Mary Elizabeth Truss, commonly known as Liz Truss, is a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party from September to October 2022.

She was elected as the Conservative MP for South West Norfolk in 20102. Truss has the distinction of being the youngest female cabinet member in British history in 2014, the first female lord chancellor in 2016, and the first female Conservative foreign secretary in 2021.
On her fiftieth day in office as Prime Minister, she stepped down amid a government crisis, making her the shortest-serving prime minister in British history.
